Firmware v2.20 bringing BD-Live to PS3+
Here’s a quick preview of the next PLAYSTATION 3 system software update coming up in the next few days. Firmware v2.20, introduces a number of features to further enhance your PLAYSTATION 3 as the hub of your entertainment center.
Most notably, the update enables the PS3 to support Blu-ray Disc Profile 2.0, also known as BD-Live. You can connect now to the Internet while playing discs that support BD-Live to obtain additional content and special features. These features vary from disc to disc, and will keep your BD discs fresh with new content and in some cases exclusive content only accessible to owners of BD-Live enabled discs. On April 8th Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release The 6th Day and Walk Hard on Blu-ray; these titles will be among the first to take advantage of BD-Live. With this update, the PLAYSTATION 3 becomes the first Blu-ray player on the market with BD-Live functionality.

Be afraid Nvidia / ATI / AMD |
07 Feb 2008 - 13:02 - GMT |
over the next 2-3years intel are gonna be targetting being the lead in every Processor related task.
Read THIS
with 8-16+ cores per cpu everyone else should be worried, this will allow so much processing power without the need for gpu's as there is more than enough processing power to do everything a computer could need, let alone pushing the realism of games to the next level. More objects will be able to be utilisied in games, more of everything. Especially with memory controllers in the chips too, no more north bridge. Impressive to say the least
Onboard graphics is looking likely so nvidia should be more scared than anyone else, as ati / amd are already doing this and intel are catching them up fast. Where does this leave nvidia and graphics cards? Only time will tell

The next level of real-time imaging |
30 Dec 2007 - 17:05 - GMT |
Right i am having a dull day with crap weather and have come across this and its pretty impressive.
The japanese have come up with some more clever stuff. Real time image manipulation is here, we have all played about with photoshop making someones eyes bulge, put on make lips and grow ourselves breasts. How about being able to make yourself look like the "gom8z" in a webcam conversation which we all would love to do.
I'm sure the WoW junkies might like this technology you would be able to organise "raids" while everyone else can see you in the style of an "orc" which i can imagine would be quite snazzy.
However this technology does come with drawbacks, this means anyone can inpersonate anyone else with ease. This would be good for practical jokes on mates but could cause problems especially with all this internet dating stuff me, mez and some others here use.
You can view the youtube clip HERE.
And you can discuss HERE

| Unofficial Top 10 Gaming Movies |
When I first started too think about this write-up I encountered many pressing issues such as 'what games do people prefer watching?' and 'what game gives the movie maker more scope for imagination'. These questions would ultimately determine the outcome of this Top 10.
Over my 4years of gaming I, like a lot of you, have downloaded many a shocking movie that just wasn't worth the e-space and yet, many a movie that has surprised and positively stunned me. It begs the question; just what does make a fragmovie so special? Just like different people prefer a different genre of film, different gamers prefer a different style of fragmovie. |

| HP Blackbird 002 |
Legendary system builders VoodooPC, who have 2 CustomPC Dream PC awards under their belt, were bought by Hewlett Packard back in September 2006.
Finally after a year of preparation, the Voodoo team in HP released their first PC this September, a beastly but not over the top machine that has caught my eye on various hardware review sites.
Here's a summarised account of what to expect of the Blackbird 002 series when they hit the UK in the next couple of months.
As far as the reviews have gone, the machine is by all accounts, high quality stuff, with the Voodoo team using the large amount of new resources available to them to make a beast that honestly makes me feel like buying a pre-built PC for once.
Read on to see why!
